Sagot :
Pierre-Auguste Renoir, was born in Limoges in 1841 to a tailor father and a seamstress mother. Gifted for drawing, and also for singing, he worked as a decorator from the age of 13 in a porcelain workshop while taking courses in an art school. In 1962, he entered the Ecole des Beaux-Arts.From 1864, he exhibited his first paintings at the official Salons then participated in the Salon des Impressionnistes in 1874 by presenting his painting, "Le Bal du moulin de la Galette". Changing more or less style with each decade, approaching and then moving away from the Impressionists, Renoir enjoyed success from the 1890s, alternating portraits, naked and still lifes. Until his death in 1919, Auguste Renoir continued to paint despite attacks of rheumatoid arthritis which increasingly deformed his body and paralyzed it.
