Inspector : What were you doing yesterday at 11 pm?
Mrs Jones : We were relaxing in the living-room. I was watching TV and I was knitting.
Inspector : What about you, Mr Jones? Were you watching television too?
Mr Jones : No, I was not watching TV, I was reading the newspaper and I was smoking a cigarette.
inspector : Was your son watching TV with you?
Mr Jones : Of course not, he was not sitting with us, it was late! He was sleeping.
Inspector : And did you hear anything at all?
Mrs Jones : It was raining hard and, with the television on, you know…No, we didn’t hear anything.
