Bonjour, je dois faire un DM d'anglais et je n'y arrive pas. Voici le texte et les questions. August 24, 1931 Dear Diary, Today was a special day. It was Mamma's birthday. She was 46. One year younger than Daddy. It was a nice moment. We couldn't give her a big presebt, but she was so happy when I gave her the flowers. She said it was the nicest present she ever got because I picked them. There were her special flowers, she said, her special flowers from her Louise, from her beautiful twelve year-old girl. Me and and Mamma prepared dinner. We had corn bread, turnip greens, turkey and dressing. Papa said it was the best dressing ever. And we had iced tea. Papa was late coming home tonight. It was another hard day for him. He had to work all day long. He said it was so hot. Alabama sun can make you miserable, for sure, especially in the fields. We are luckier at the house, with all the trees around us. I love the forest. I thing Daddy got up around 4 in the morning. I am not sure as I was asleep. Sam went to work with him. 17 is enough now, Papa said. They had problems in the fields. One of the horses got sick, and they has to take him back to the stables. Daddy said Sam accepted to work longer to get a little more money. I know Mamma and Daddy are worried about the money. Mamma doesn't say much, but tonight she said ''Jim, I believe, it is the most difficult years of my life". Papa said this depression was the worst in our nation's history. Papa said he was lucky he still had a job at the saw-mill. "Thank God we have the farm, Marie", Papa said, "and the animals". But we had fun tonight. Expect My friend Edna was supposed to come. But she coul'dnt. Sha had to work with her parents. I was sad. I haven't seen her in a few weeks now as the school is closed. Papa said they couldn't pay the teachers and the bus drivers anymore. I miss school and my friends. We haven't been in school for 29 days now. I still study at the house with Mama after we do the housework and fix dinner for Sam and Papa. I like to read. I've read three books this past month. The Prince and the Pauper was my favorite. I hope these hard days will soon be over. I love Mamma and Papa so much.
