Marie Curie, born Maria Salomea Skłodowska on November 7, 1867 in Warsaw and died on July 4, 1934 in Passy, in the Sancellemoz sanatorium, was a Polish physicist and chemist, naturalized French by her marriage to the physicist Pierre Curie in 1895.Marie Curie receives the Nobel Prize in Chemistry for isolating metallic radium and determining its atomic mass. She will be a pioneer of the centers for the fight against cancer in 1920 until being in 1995 the first woman admitted to the Pantheon for her merits.Marie Curie died in 1934, in a sanatorium in the Alps, of leukemia. She is buried in Sceaux alongside Pierre.
