Bonjour,
Réponse :
Christmas Truce ( la Trêve de Noël )
On Christmas Eve, soldiers from both sides met in the no man’s land.
They sang Christmas carols, like « Silent Night ». They also collected the
bodies of men who had died in the attacks - normally, it was too dangerous.
Men from both sides gave gifts to each other, mostly food. The Germans
gave sausages to the British and the British gave chocolates to the Germans.
Explications :
Christmas carols = chants de Noël
gifs = cadeaux
food = nourriture
