Sir Winston Churchill was born in Woodstock on 30 November 1874 and died in London on 24 January 1965. He is a British statesman and writer. As a member of the Conservative Party, despite an episode in the Liberal Party, he was Prime Minister of the United Kingdom from May 1940 to July 1945 and from October 1951 to April 1955; notably during the Second World War, he played a decisive role in the victory of the Allied forces.

He then served as a war correspondent and briefly served as commander of the 6th Battalion of the Royal Scottish Flintlocks on the Western Front during the First World War. He was a member of Parliament for 60 years and a minister for almost 30 years. In the Liberal government of Asquith, he was Secretary of Commerce, Secretary of the Interior and First Secretary of the Navy: he participated in the first social law, attacked the influence of the House of Lords, but the battle of the Dardanelles The failure caused his dismissal. The Parliamentary Inquiry Committee dismissed all responsibility for this failure and was recalled by Lloyd George as Secretary of Arms, Secretary of State for War and Secretary of State for the Air Force.
