Sur cette oeuvre de Norman Rockwell Breaking Home Ties je vois un père avec son fils qui attendent sur un banc, le fils à un costume beige avec une chemise, une paire de chaussure marron, il a l'air impatient, son père est entrain de fumer, il est vêtu d'un bleu de travail avec une paire de chaussure noir dans ces mains il tiens un chapeau noir, au sol on peut voir qu'il y a une valise marron et un chien qui est assis. ​
