Sagot :

ROSA : What an exhausting day! Oh thank god there's an empty seat.

A white man comes into the bus at the next stop.

THE WHITE MAN: May I ask you why you're sitting here?
ROSA : Well, it's been an exhausting day and-
THE WHITE MAN: I don't care! Go sit in the back with your people!
ROSA : There's no empty seat back there. I won't move.
THE WHITE MAN: Enough! Someone call the police!

The scene is getting more attention from the passengers.

PASSENGER : What's happening here?
THE WHITE MAN : This colored woman won't stand up!
PASSENGER : Just stand up and everything will be okay.
ROSA : I will not be moving.
PASSENGER: Ma'am, it's illegal!
THE WHITE MAN: See? She doesn't listen!
PASSENGER: Alright then, I'll bring the bus driver.
BUS DRIVER : I'll stop at the next bus station!

At the next stop, the driver comes in. Shocked by the situation he decides to stop the bus and call the police. A police officer arrives.

POLICE OFFICER : What's the matter, gentlemen?
BUS DRIVER : Apparently this woman won't seat with her kind!
POLICE OFFICER: This is against the law!
BUS DRIVER : Thank you, officer!
PASSENGER: These people don't know their own place.
POLICE OFFICER: I'll have to handcuff you now. Don't resist arrest.
BUS DRIVER : This is just pathetic!
POLICE OFFICER: I'm going to bring you to the police station.
BUS DRIVER: Throw her in jail!
POLICE OFFICER: Thank you gentlemen for reporting this horrible behavior!

Rosa is now in a courtroom, facing a judge.

JUDGE: You have the right to remain silent.
ROSA : Could I, at least, get a lawyer?
JUDGE: I said SILENCE!
ROSA : Let me speak! It's my right!
JUDGE: Everything you'll say or do could be used against you.
ROSA : Alright.
JUDGE : Do you have anything else to say, Mrs. Parks?
ROSA : No. go on.

The trial goes on for hours.

JUDGE : You have been found guilty and will be fined $15.000 to compensate.
ROSA : This is so unfair!
