Farmersburg, Indiana, 1987: Lisa is often alone in her large isolated house in the heart of corn fields. His parents come home late every night and have therefore decided to buy him a dog, to reassure her. One night, it is awakened by a dripping water noise. She gets up and closes the bathroom tap. She slips her hand under her bed and her dog lickes her. It reassures her. The noise continues and decides to tighten the tap in the bathroom. She slip and slide her hand under her bed again, and her dog lickes her again. But the noise goes on and Lisa can’t sleep. She makes a last tour of the house without finding anything, so she gets in touch by sliding her hand under the bed. The dog licks her again.
The noise is still there and Lisa decides to locate her provenance: the sound comes from her closet. When she opens her, she discovers her slaughtered dog, suspended by the hind legs, slowly emptying her blood. On the door of the cupboard a message written in a blood letter: ‘THE HUMANES ALSO MAY LIVE’
