Explications :

"Passive voice" est une règle grammaticale assez simple à comprendre. Les consignes invitent généralement à passer de la voix active à la voix passive et vice versa.

Formation de la voix active :

Sujet + Verbe (groupe verbal) + Complément d’objet.

Formation de la voix passive :

Complément d’objet (à la voix active) + to be (conjugué au temps du verbe à la voix active) + Participe passé de ce même verbe + by + Sujet (le sujet du verbe à la voix active).

En effet, le sujet du verbe à la voix active devient le complément d’argent à la voix passive. Et le complément d’objet (à la voix active) devient lui le sujet à la voix passive.

En ce qui concerne la conjugaison des verbes à la voix passive, il faut juste conjuguer l’auxiliaire "to be" au temps du verbe de la voix active avant d’y ajouter le participe passé de ce même verbe.

Remarques :

1. A la voix passive, il n’est pas nécessaire de mentionner les compléments d’argent "by me/ him/ you/ them/…" ou "by people/ someone/ everybody/ …".

2. A la voix active, les verbes d’attribution tels que "to offer, to give, to send, etc." sont généralement suivis de 2 compléments d’objet. Dans ce cas, vous pouvez l’un ou l’autre complément d’objet pour réécrire la phrase à la voix passive. Mais à ce niveau, il faut souligner que le premier complément d’objet, celui qui suit immédiatement le verbe, doit être précédé de ‘to’ s’il est maintenu en tant que complément d’objet à la voix passive. L’exercice 7 illustre bien ce que je dis.

3. On a également affaire à des phrases avec 2 propositions (proposition principale et proposition subordonnée) à la voix active. Comment passer à la voix passive dans ce cas ? Ici, il faut attention, car vous devez associer la règle de ‘passive voice’ et celle de ‘Reported speech’. Pour réécrire ces phrases à la voix passive, il faut respecter ce qui suit :

Sujet du verbe de la proposition subordonnée + l’auxiliaire ‘to be’ conjugué au temps de ce même verbe (à la voix active) + Participe passé du verbe de la proposition principale + l’infinitif avec ‘to’ du verbe de la proposition subordonnée + le reste de la phrase. C’est ce qui s’est passé dans l’exercice 6.
