Bonjour,
Built by George McRae and completed in 1898, this ambitious project provided employment for many unemployed during the dark period of the Recession.
There were offices, cafes, some traders and even a concert hall.
The building suffered many deteriorations over the years and there was talk in 1959 of demolishing it.
After a serious renovation, the building reopened in 1986.
Covering an entire block, the Queen Victoria Building is today a vast shopping center/mall which offers 4 floors, numerous shops and places to eat/ restaurents.
A landscaped passage leads to Town Hall station on one side and the Myers department store on the other.
J'espere que je t'ai aide
