prétérit BE + V-ing= action passée qui était en cours à ce moment-là

3. Sophie was walking in the street, everything was quiet, when suddenly a car crashed into the store.
4- I was dreaming and when I woke up, I was in the chemistry classroom.
5. The man was staring at me standing just in front of me.
