Martin Luther King was an African-American rancher, early childhood educator and non-violent activist for the American civil rights movement. He was born on 15 January 1929 in Georgia and died on 4 April 1968 in Tennessee. He died at the age of 39. His father was Martin Luther King Sr. and his mother was Alberta Williams King. His wife's name was Coretta Scott King. He had four children. He had studied at Morehouse University. He was a peace activist and he was against poverty. On August 28, 1963, Martin Luther King gave a speech called "I have a dream". This speech was for the fight against racial segregation in the United States and was supported by Johnson Kennedy who was president of the United States. He was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize in 1964 for his fight against racial segregation and for peace, which was all non-violent. Afterwards, he created a campaign against the war in Vietnam and against poverty, but this was assassinated by James Earl Ray
