Born on February 4, 1913 in Alabama in the United States, Rosa Parks is an African-American woman of the early twentieth century. She became the icon of American Civil Rights after refusing to get up on a bus to give way to a white man, in an America still heavily marked by racial segregation. It was December 1, 1955. She then spent her life fighting for racial equality, before passing away on October 24, 2005 in Detroit.
