1) There were no major slave revolts in the North because the North was mainly against slaves and were free states (basically without slaves)

2) The political climate would be anxious and conflicted , both sides are opposed against something and don’t particularly agree with each other which could result in a war (it actually did , it was the Civil War from 1861-65)
