4) To not be caught, they were, at first, using a fake railroad created by people who were helping them to escape. They used password like "passengers" for fugitives and "station" for safe house. The "station" were marked with a candle in front of the window for being recognized by the "conductor". They were only traveling at night so they used the constellations for find the goodway and not be losted. They disguised themselves and were not really talkative. They used songs and code messsages.
