Hello, My name is .....(Ton nom/prénom). I'm now 42 years old. Thirty years ago i had to leave my motherland .....(un pays de ton choix) behind for financial problems.
I was 12 years when i got the news that my dad's office where he worked has been burnt down and so unfortunately many people who worked there lost their job including my dad. We were obligated to leave my country and move to a place where we could live happily. Me, my mother and my dad had to struggle to get the visa of United States of America. We took a ship and started our journey to New York a few days after the incidence. We had a hard time on the ship because because we barely had food on our 5 days journey.
Finally the day came where we arrived at Ellis Island, New York. We have to move with our heavy luggages and reach my aunt's house where we lived for a few months.
In the meantime, my parents were searching for a job for themselves and taking English courses at the same time. I managed to get in a school and i learned the language there, which took me a few months. We moved to a small apartment when my dad got a job. We got our nationality after 5 years of living in USA. We had bought a house after that. Our life went happily without any problems to this day. I'm still greatfull to my parents for doing so much for me. Now im happily married with 3 kids. My parents live with us.
To this day, i miss my country i left off 30 years ago. But I'm glad i came here to spend the rest of my life. It's been a great journey.
