From 1492 to 1585, this is the period during which the first Europeans arrived in North America.
Christopher Columbus made three more voyages in 1493, 1498 and 1502 and was followed by many "sentinels of the new world".
The adventure continued with the voyages of Jacques Cartier who made three trips to Canada. He probably already went to Brazil with Verrazano in 1524 and 1528. The famous Malouin left Saint-Malo, on the orders of François I, for his first voyage in 1534-1535. He travelled the Gulf of St. Lawrence, disembarked at Gaspé, and brought back to France two Amerindian children
