Dear newspaper
I arrived in Makoko today, which is a slum located in Nigeria. I knew that the city was not very clean and rich because I had heard it but I did not expect this. The poor people have no money, no jobs because there are no offers. They live in misery and poverty. Most of the workers are Beninese fishermen who are threatened to be deported to "clean" the city. They have to move by boat but there are many boats so we are moving very slowly. The heat is very strong, very hard to bear for the children who work from a very young age. I hope one day to be able to help them.
