World wide war and indeed establish the relationships between the powers . In fact the comic is a testimony of the Holocaust from nazis that we can also call the "Shoa" which means catastrophe in Hebrew but at the same time this comic also shows the relationship between a father and his son Vladec and Art . He explains that he found it hard to ( il manque un mot ) his father because of the fact that survivors tend to be traumatized and have difficulties to talk about it , as a matter of fact it's truly hurtful for the survivors of the Holocaust. Moreover this is also a historian's work since history is loyal to the reality . We can also add the fact that in the comic we can see Vladek and Art when they were writing it in 1970 . Another point is that the other comic boards also happen within the period of the WW2 ( Worldwide war 2 )in 1940 . It's also interesting to point out the colors used in this comic , which are black and white ,indeed it symbolizes the particular darkness , pain and suffering of the events that occurred . The first thumbnail we can see a band , bubbles and a " recitat " . We can quickly understand that the concentration camps' showers are deadly since the water that comes out of these showers isn't really water ( ? ça pas de sense ) . The skinny rats shower themselves before they get kicked out in the snow where they dress the rats in prisoners' outfits. No one has the right to question and eventually dispute about the size and quality of their clothes . Indeed the last thumbnail is zoomed in , we see Vladek writing while showing his prisoner number's tattoo , which is tattooed in his left arm . Every single person deported
