• 1) • Que signifie "There is / There are ?
Si on traduit en Français, cela signifie "Il y a". On emploie "There are" quand on parle de plusieurs choses.
• 2) • Exemple de phrases avec "There is" :
• There is a grocery shop in my neighbourhood.
• There is a dog in my garden.
• There is a school near my village.
• There is a sick teacher today.
• There is a horse in the pasture.
• 3) • Exemple de phrases avec "There are" :
• There are many animals.
• There are many students who have difficulties with mathematics.
• There are several weddings in this town hall at the weekend.
• There are several cats in my grandmother's house.
• There are textbooks in my schoolbag.

ATTENTION .......
lorsqu' y a une énumération, on ne prend en compte que le premier nom....
There is a boy, two girls and five men.
le 1er mot est au singulier donc there is.....
There are two boys, one girl and one man.
le 1er mot est au pluriel, donc there are....
