He was born on Lanús, Argentina and death on Dique Luján, Argentina. His position on football is: Attacking midfielder, second striker. He was nicknamed El Diez, Pelusa, El Diego and El Pibe de Oro (The Golden Boy). He is widely regarded as one of the best footballers ever, and many people compare him to Brazilian legend Pelé. His greatest and most important achievement was winning the 1986 FIFA World Cup in Mexico.
