Explications : Voici la transcription de la vidéo
Women and girls have always faced obstacles, but that has never stopped us.
We sacrificed, we fought, we succeeded, we were knocked back and we succeeded again.
In the race for justice, we have overcome many obstacles to gaining our rights
Women did not have the right to vote,
they were not allowed to study,
they were not fairly paid for their work
and did not have the opportunity to participate in political leadership.
Even the first Olympics were not open to women.
That was then.
1893 New Zealand gives women voting rights
192 states followed
1963 America adopts the first equal pay law
60 states followed
97 countries now have more women than men in universities
In Rwanda, 50% of women MPs are now in parliament
And in 21 states, a woman is now in charge
There are still many huge and high obstacles that need to be overcome.
The race is not over yet.
Every day of every year of our lives,
but once we cross the finish line,
no one can stop us.
Equality now.
