This image is a photograph taken in Shady Grove, Alabama by Gordon Parks in 1956.
In the foreground, we can see a probable ice cream shop, hot dogs etc... The writings "white" and "colored" are written on the signs of the shop.
A father and his daughter, who are both black, are buying but come to the counter with "colored" written on them.
This photo is evidence of segregation in 1956.
