He is the only son of George Alfred Moore, a police officer, and Lillian Pope cashier and then housewife.
He was been maried for times, he has a daughter called deborah and two sons, christian and geoffrey, and he adopts christina who died of cancer in 2016 at the age of 47.
As a tribute to his film career, he was knighted by Queen Elizabeth II in 2003.
