Sagot :
Hii !
For my homework, i chosen a painting called « The Problem We All Live With »by Norman Rockwell. We can see a black little girl accompanied with four man around her. She seems calm and neutral. Rockwell’s painting was created from a real photo that he seen. The child depict Ruby Bridges, a six year old African-American girl. She went to a school only frequented by white childrens in the 1960’s, so during the process of desegregation of black people. Ruby has received many threats which earned her expulsion from school. On the wall we can clearly see « Negger » which is a violent racial insult towards black people. This board has the value of a symbol in the history of the Civil Rights Movement, that’s why i chose it.
J’espère avoir pu t’aider !
