1) While mum was doing the washing up, dad was watching television.
2)Was Robert reading his newspaper when you arrived?
3) The pupils were copying the lesson when the headmaster entered.
4) I wasn't listening, can you repeat, please?
5) Were you working at this time yesterday? No, I wasn't.
6) As the cat was slepping, the mouse was dancing!
Exercise 2:
My dog was eating when he saw the cat. He started running after the poor cat in the whole house! They bumped into my grandmother who arrived in the living room and she fell down and broke her knee! As she was crying, my father rushed and helped her to her feet. I was doing my homework when I heard her! What a terrible evening!
