Hello Guys,
From June 16, 1976, there was the soweto riot. in 1976, south africa was ruled by apartheid laws introduced in 1949.
the regime of the demonstrations which were to turn into a riot is the 1974 decree signed by matbota (minister of administration and education) stipulating that africans would be the language of instruction on an equal basis with english in all black schools.
the new decree badly accepted by the populations concerned and by the association of African teachings who consider that Africans is the language of the oppressor.
on April 30, 1976, the children of the school of the district of Soweto, go on strike, refusing to go to the school. Their movement then spread during the month of May to other schools in Soweto.
