1) Clothes are useful as they are able to protect our bodies from weather conditions (heat, cold, humidity, etc...) and the environment. However, throughout the years, its purposes evolved. Indeed, today, clothes can define the social status of people, with for example, brand-names like Gucci, point out the fact that you can afford it. Yet, people misjudge others only because of their appearance, which can lead to a misunderstanding.
2) In my opinion, clothes mark a social anticipation : we dress as we would like to express ourselves. However, fashion does not only express our mood, it also reveals who we are, throughout our choices, our tastes and our clothing habits. It is the tacit expression of our identity, which is reflected in the reaction, good or bad, of others' eyes. This is why fashion is not only an art form but also a social marker that allows us to proclaim our singularity, our willingness to distinguish ourselves from the social group to which we belong or, on the contrary, to display our belonging to that same group. We must follow our desires, do our best to feel good and not copy and be like others.
