The commonwealth is an association of nations which counts 52 members states. They share the same values. The majority of the member states were former colonies of the British Empire. They share a common language. They all have equal importance and they support democracy and peace. All commonwealth countries work together to improve education, health, gender equality, human rights, development and climate change. Commonwealth Day is celebrate on the second Monday in March. It’s celebrated in schools and communities all over the commonwealth. The commonwealth games are held every 4 years (in one of the commonwealth countries). The other name for the commonwealth games is « The Friendly Games ». There are 7 para-sports for athletes with a disability in the Commonwealth games and medal events in 18 sports. 6 000 athletes participating tot he commonwealth games.
