Bonsoir,

1. Most immagrants in the U.S.A come from Asia (a whopping 12.2%!). I believe Asians represent the largest immigration population because historically, generations and generations of Asian communities have taken to immigration to the United States by many means, such as many more opportunites, a new lifestyle, etc. Since there people of Asian descendance are also one of the largest ethnic groups as China is known to be one of the most populated countries in the world, it makes sense that there would be more Asian immigrants in the U.S.

2. With the one exception of Illinois, all of the most densely immigrant-populated states shown in this map are on eithe coastline of the US, wether that be Pacific or Atlantic. I believe this is for two reasons. The first one is that the States on the coast are much more acessible for immigrants to move to, as they are the closest to whatever other country they were living in previously. The second reason is that these states also tend to be more densly populated, which means a much larger variety of communities of various ethnic groups, religions, and cultures. This means that immigrants are more likely to move there as they have better chances of being accepted by the locals. Some of the most known states for being culturally diverse are New York and California.
