Sagot :
Charlie Chaplin was born April 16, 1889 probably in London (United Kingdom) and died December 25, 1977 in Corsier-sur-Vevey (Switzerland), is a British actor, director, screenwriter, producer and composer. Among his first feature films were Charlot soldier (1918), The Kid (1921), L'Opinion publique (1923), The Gold Rush (1925) and Le Cirque (1928). He refused to switch to sound cinema and continued to produce silent films in the 1930s, such as Les Lumières de la ville (1931) and Les Temps Modernes (1936). His works then became more political, with notably Le Dictateur (1940), in which he made fun of Hitler and Mussolini. His popularity declined in the 1940s due to controversies over his affair with women much younger than him and a paternity lawsuit.
