Des bûcherons pauvres eurent sept enfants dont le dernier s’appelait le petit Poucet. Un jour, le petit Poucet' entendit ses parents dire qu'ils allaient les abandonner dans les bois. La première fois ils réussirent à revenir chez eux car le petit Poucet avait semé des cailloux. Grâce à cela, les sept garçons rentrèrent chez eux. La deuxième fois, ils s'arrêtèrent dans une maison qu'ils découvrirent au bord du chemin. Une dame leur ouvrit la porte, c'était la femme d'un ogre. Elle décida de cacher les sept garçons. Mais, l'ogre les trouva et décida de les manger le lendemain. C'était sans compter sur l'ingéniosité du petit poucet qui se déguisa avec ses frères avec les couronnes des sept filles de l'ogre. Ce dernier les confondit alors et mangea ses propres filles ! Le petit Poucet s'enfuit ensuite avec ses six frères. L'ogre les poursuivit sans les rattraper et finit par s'endormir. Le petit poucet vola ensuite les bottes de l'ogre, les enfila et retourna voir sa femme. Il inventa une histoire pour prendre tout l'or de l'ogre et rentra alors chez lui avec ses frères. Ils retrouvèrent leurs parents qui étaient tristes et furent alors très heureux de les retrouver. Ils était riches et vécurent heureux.

The first time they managed to return home because little Thumb had sown stones. Thanks to this, the seven boys returned home. The second time, they stopped at a house they discovered by the side of the road. A lady opened the door for them, she was the wife of an ogre. She decided to hide the seven boys. But, the ogre found them and decided to eat them the next day. It was without counting on the ingenuity of the little thumb who disguised himself with his brothers with the crowns of the seven daughters of the ogre. The latter then confused them and ate his own daughters! Little Thumb then fled with his six brothers. The ogre pursued them without catching up to them and ended up falling asleep. The little thumb then stole the ogre's boots, put them on and returned to his wife. He made up a story to take all of the ogre's gold and then went home with his brothers. They found their parents who were sad and were then very happy to find them. They were rich and lived happily ever after.
