Façonnés par la société et les besoins croissant de l’Homme, l’habitat n’a cessé d’évoluer au fil des époques, mais les constructeurs, plaçant la rentabilité et la rapidité au centre de leurs préoccupations, ont fortement altéré le confort habitant. Nous essayerons ensuite, de définir le rôle du designer d’espace dans le processus d’appropriation de l’habitat, par l’habitant, dans le but d’instaurer un chez-soi. Cet espace fournit, au-delà de la protection physique et matérielle, un véritable territoire où s’exprime la singularité de l’habitant, un lieu de développement de soi : le lieu de l’intime."
