Who is Kofi Annan ?
Kofi A. Annan was born in Kumasi, in GHANA, on 8 April 1938, Mr. Annan studied at the University of Science and technology in Kumasi and completed his undergraduate work in economics at Macalester College in the UNITED STATES in 1961.
From 1997 to 2006 he was the seventh Secretary-General of the United Nations.
He was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize in 2001.
He was fluent in ENGLISH , FRENCH and several African languages. He was married to Nane Annan, of Sweden, a lawyer and painter. The Annans had three children. He died on August 18th 2018 , in BERN, SWITZERLAND.
Who is Desmond Tutu?
Desmond Mpilo Tutu ( born 7th October 1931)is a South African activist and an opponent of APARTHEID. He was the first black African Archibishop of Cape Town, in 1986.
Tutu has been active in the defense of human rights. Tutu received the Nobel Peace Prize in 1984, the Albert Schweitzer Price for Humanitarianism in 1999, the Pacem in Terris Award in 1987, the Sydney Peace prize in 1999, the Gandhi Peace Prize in 2005 and the Presidential Medal of Freedom in 2009
