Réponse : Introduction : This modern painting was made by Greg Hildebrandt and he named it ‘The day the Angels cried’
Description : In the forefront we can see a fireman is crying and he is surrounded by two angels. The angels show compassion towards the fireman and they look sad. He’s holding a helmet on which it is written the number ‘911’ also known as the emergency number in the United States. There are contrasts and similarities between the characters. In terms of contrast we can say that the angels have blond hair and golden capes while the fireman has black hair and dark clothes. The protagonists are in the middle of the painting to highlight what the painting is about. In the background we can notice the light which could symbolises Heaven.
Analysis : We can deduct from this image, that the fireman is dead and that he is in heaven. But the fact that he is crying can symbolises the fact that he failed saving other people’s lives during an intervention. He’s crying because it’s his duty to save people’s lives. Since it was a noble cause, he’s in heaven and that’s why the angels are comforting him in a way to tell him that he did everything he could. The goal of the artist is to tell the audience that me must show compassion and respect to daily heroes such as firemen.
Conclusion : I like this painting because it is a reminder that it’s not always easy to be a hero and that having the duty to save lives is a huge responsibility and it puts a lot of pressure of people like firemen.
Explications : Voilà je pense que c'est assez complet.
