At 6 years old she was hired out to take care of an infant.
-What sorts of jobs did she do ?
She was hired by several families, to take care of infants, to collect muskrats from traps. At 12, she worked in fields.

She escaped on September 17, 1849.

She went north, to Philadelphia.
-How many people did she help after 1850 ?
She helped around 300 slaves.
-What name was she given ? And why ?
She was given the name of « Moses » because like Moses in the Bible who led the Jews to the promised land, she led the slaves to freedom.

She died on March 12, 1913 in Boston Massachusetts
