I've been in Houston, Texas, for nearly
and it's like living a dream come true. I have changed so
much over this past year. You can't even imagine!
First, my personality has changed. I feel more confident.
more open-minded and even more mature. I have learnt
so much about a new culture and a new way of life. People
are so welcoming... so much warmth coming from my host
family too. Thanks to high school, I have met new people.
got involved in new activities and I have learnt to work
differently
Secondly, I can tell I'm less shy now. I've learnt to measure
what my strengths and potentials are, which has helped
me grow up. This experiment has changed my whole life.
I have become a different person, more independent and
autonomous and I feel ready for real life!
I came here thanks to the UNSE organization. They told
me I could go to the US from three months up to a year.
I had to be between 14 and 18- and I was 15. I had to be
motivated, have the right English level and, above all, I
had to show personal qualities.
As for the price, my year irf Houston is a bit expensive
but there are other solutions to enjoy a year abroad.
You can get assistance from different funds and grants
programmes or even find sponsors. You can also decide to become an au pair for
the summer. You will work for a family and be fed and paid in return. They say.
Home is where the heart is, so... are you tempted?
