Detached houses, or single houses not connected to another house, are second in popularity. These two types of houses are usually in the suburbs of a city. In the city centre there are often flats and terraced houses. Bungalows are houses with only one floor. Cottages are old houses, traditionally with thatched roofs, and they are in the countryside.
